Molybdenum bar pages often place pure Mo, TZM and doped grades beside the same dimensions. A shared shape does not make those material routes interchangeable. Four company-owned pages passed this review; their useful differences are the material type, finished range and delivery fields they expose.
How the four company sources were selected
We froze the query molybdenum bar rod supplier manufacturer ASTM B387 on 1 September 2026. Eligible results were accessible company-owned pages that expressly offered molybdenum rod or bar and exposed at least one material, dimension, condition or process field. Beiyu, marketplaces, directories, third-party lists, duplicate domains and pages limited to steel containing molybdenum were removed. The sequence is a dated discovery record, not a supplier rating.
A public page can identify a likely supply route. It cannot prove the current heat, capacity, lead time, inspection result or fitness of material that has not yet been produced or allocated. Those points remain dated quotation fields.
Company pages that met the rule
| Company source | Page role | Visible fields | RFQ check |
|---|---|---|---|
| WOLFTEN | Poland-based refractory-metal supplier page | Mo 99.95%; 1-120 mm diameter; length to 2,000 mm; B387 Type 361 wording | Reconfirm actual type, finished diameter, condition, finish, tolerance and current schedule |
| MTS Molybdenum | Supplier/manufacturer material hub | Pure Mo and TZM shown as separate routes; rod/bar plus other forms; B387/type labels | A multi-form hub does not map every standard or material to every rod size; request a form-specific offer |
| Elmet Technologies | Integrated US manufacturer rod page | 99.95% pure Mo; pressed, sintered and swaged route; gun-drilled option; page says designed to exceed B387 | Treat exceedance as a self-claim until the offered type, condition and test record are returned |
| Eagle Alloys | Distributor/supplier rod page | 0.125-8 in diameter and lengths to 20 ft; pure Mo, TZM and other Mo alloys; B387/B386 wording | B386 is a flat-product route; require the supplier to map one alloy/type and B387 route to the rod line |
A diameter range answers only the first geometry question. WOLFTEN publishes a compact pure-Mo Type 361 envelope, while the other pages expose wider material or form families. The quotation must identify which material type, route and finished range actually apply to the requested rod.
Keep alloy type, condition and surface on separate lines
| Decision | Choices visible in the source set | Required written return |
|---|---|---|
| Material | Unalloyed Mo, TZM or another explicitly named Mo alloy | One material/type tied to chemistry and the MTC |
| Product form | Rod, round bar, wire, threaded rod or gun-drilled blank | Finished deliverable and applicable B387 route |
| Condition | Pressed/sintered, worked, stress relieved, recrystallized or annealed | Named delivery condition and any downstream heat treatment |
| Surface | Black/as-worked, cleaned, machined, ground or polished | Finish, diameter tolerance, straightness and roughness if critical |
| Dimension statement | Published process capability versus finished saleable size | Finished diameter/section and length in one unit system |
ASTM B387 covers molybdenum and molybdenum-alloy bar, rod and wire, but the material type and manufacturing route still matter. A broad page may also print B386, which belongs to plate, sheet, strip and foil. Do not carry the closest ASTM number onto the order: bind the alloy/type, bar or rod form, finished dimensions and condition to one applicable specification.
A page conflict is a verification prompt, not a finding that a company cannot supply the item. Quote the page as observed, ask for a clean technical offer and make the purchase order control the final identity, form and acceptance route.

Send one controlled RFQ
| RFQ line | Buyer input | Supplier return |
|---|---|---|
| Material/type | Pure Mo type or exact alloy such as TZM | Designation and chemistry tied to the offered lot |
| Route/condition | Powder-metallurgy or arc route as required; worked/stress-relieved/recrystallized condition | Manufacturing and final delivery condition |
| Geometry | Diameter or section, length, tolerances, straightness, end preparation | Finished dimensioned offer |
| Surface | Black, cleaned, machined, ground or polished; roughness and allowance | Finish method and inspection result |
| Testing/documents | Chemistry, mechanical/dimensional tests, NDE if needed, sampling, traceability, certificate | Document and acceptance schedule tied to heat/lot |
| Commercial | Quantity, cut plan, packing, marking, required date and destination | Current availability, schedule, validity and exceptions |
Remove any source that cannot return the exact material, form, condition and finished dimensions. Compare price and lead time only after the technical lines and document scope are aligned.
Where Beiyu fits
Beiyu is outside the four-company set. Its current molybdenum product source separates pure Mo and TZM, lists a 3 to 150 mm diameter enquiry range and makes length a drawing field. Surface options are black/as-sintered, ground or polished. The page names ASTM B387 but final material type, condition, dimensions, inspection and documents remain quotation fields rather than current inventory.
The figures in this section describe only Beiyu’s published enquiry route. They do not score the companies above and do not transfer to another company’s catalogue.

Specification detail with sources
Beiyu Titanium publishes this list and is not part of the comparison above. For readers who want the publisher’s own figures on the same basis they would ask of any supplier on this page, the material is specified to ASTM B348, and each order carries an EN 10204 type 3.1 certificate with heat and pour numbers by order scope.
Round bar runs 1 to 500 mm diameter, square 3 x 3 to 500 x 500 mm, flat 3 x 12.7 to 30 x 500 mm and hexagon up to 17 mm across flats, in lengths to 6000 mm. The precision ground route covers 3.175 to 25.4 mm diameter at +/-0.0127 mm, tightened to +/-0.0076 mm against a drawing, with straightness held to 0.5 mm per metre and 0.3 mm per metre at 25 mm and under.
Bar from the precision ground line runs five inspections at 100 percent coverage rather than by sampling: ultrasonic, eddy current, surface optical, infrared laser diameter and straightness. The ultrasonic parameters are immersion method, focused longitudinal wave, 100 percent of the circumference, a 1.2 mm flat-bottom hole reference at 80 percent screen height, 10 MHz, Class A1, to AMS-STD-2154 or GB/T 5193. These are Beiyu published supply figures and inspection parameters, not limits taken from the standard; limit values belong to ASTM B348 and are confirmed against the exact edition named on the purchase order. Certification is stated as a production capability, and no stock position, delivery time or price is implied by any figure on this page.
