Refractory Metals
Molybdenum, tungsten, niobium and tantalum product forms, plus zirconium as an adjacent reactive-metal route, for specified industrial RFQs.
Refractory metals cover material lines such as molybdenum, tungsten, tantalum, niobium and zirconium. These metals are usually selected for demanding conditions involving high temperature, corrosion resistance, density, electrical properties, vacuum service, chemical compatibility or special industrial design requirements. Procurement depends strongly on grade or purity, product form, dimensions, tolerance, surface finish, density requirement if applicable and the final machining or fabrication route.
This category is kept as the parent landing page for Beiyu’s non-titanium specialty metal business. RFQs may involve bar, rod, sheet, plate, foil, wire, tube, sputtering-related material, electrodes, furnace components, machined parts or drawing-based components. Because refractory metals differ greatly in density, machinability, oxidation behavior and corrosion performance, buyers should not treat them as interchangeable materials. The engineering drawing or material specification should control the final selection.
For a useful quotation, provide material name, grade or purity, product form, dimensions, tolerance, quantity, surface condition, application, drawing files if available and required document package. If the part will be used in a furnace, vacuum system, chemical process, electronic component, counterweight, shielding-related part or precision machined assembly, include operating conditions and acceptance criteria. Material certificate, chemical composition, dimensional inspection, density data or third-party inspection can be discussed when the project requires it.
Related RFQ categories: Molybdenum, Tungsten, Niobium, Tantalum and Zirconium.
The refractory metal suppliers list separates mill-product, additive-manufacturing and distribution routes across seven company-owned pages.
Specification detail with sources
Tungsten is quoted here at 19.25 g/cm³ with a melting point of 3410 °C, tantalum at 16.69 g/cm³ and 2996 °C, molybdenum at 10.22 g/cm³ and 2610 °C, and niobium at 8.57 g/cm³ and 2468 °C. These are the same figures the Beiyu Titanium weight calculator and quotations run on, so a weight taken from this category matches the one that comes back on a quotation. The Beiyu Titanium supply ranges print no density or melting point for zirconium, and none is given for it here.
Five metals sit in this category and their standards are not entered the same way. For tungsten, molybdenum, tantalum and niobium the supply ranges give one entry covering the metal together with every form it is made in, so this block names them at metal level. Zirconium instead carries an entry against each form. This block states standards at the level its source states them and leaves any narrower pairing to the order documents.

This is a routing comparison, not a universal material-selection rule. Confirm compatibility, temperature and design requirements with the applicable engineering specification before purchase. Zirconium is included as an adjacent reactive-metal supply route rather than classified here as a refractory metal.
