Product Introduction
Grade 4 Titanium Sheet for Higher-Strength Commercially Pure Titanium Requirements
Beiyu supplies Grade 4 titanium sheet for industrial, medical-related and corrosion-resistant applications where commercially pure titanium is required with higher strength than Grade 1 or Grade 2. Grade 4 remains a commercially pure titanium grade, but its higher strength can affect forming and fabrication planning.
Grade 4 sheet should be quoted according to ASTM B265, ASME SB265 or the buyer's drawing. The RFQ should define thickness, size, tolerance, surface condition, forming requirements and documentation before quotation.
Grade and Standard
| Material grade | Grade 4 commercially pure titanium, UNS R50700. |
|---|---|
| Common standard | ASTM B265 / ASME SB265 for titanium and titanium alloy strip, sheet and plate. |
| Condition | Annealed sheet or project-specified condition according to thickness and requirement. |
| Surface condition | Pickled, cold rolled, hot rolled, blasted or polished surface depending on thickness and application. |
Thickness, Size and Fabrication Notes
RFQs should specify thickness, width, length, tolerance, flatness, surface finish, edge condition and quantity. If the sheet will be formed, stamped, laser cut, welded or machined, the buyer should provide drawings or process notes so the material condition and tolerance can be reviewed.
Compared with lower-strength commercially pure grades, Grade 4 may require more careful forming review. Buyers should identify bend radius, forming direction, final part geometry and inspection criteria when the sheet will be shaped after delivery.
Common Applications
- Medical-related and industrial parts specified as Grade 4
- Corrosion-resistant sheet components requiring higher strength
- Machined, stamped or formed titanium sheet parts
- Chemical equipment covers, plates and custom components
- Drawing-based titanium sheet projects requiring UNS R50700
Inspection and Documentation
Buyers can request mill test certificate, EN10204 3.1 documentation, heat number traceability, chemical composition, mechanical properties and dimensional inspection. Depending on thickness and application, PMI testing, flatness inspection, ultrasonic testing or third-party inspection can be added to the purchase specification.
Packaging and Export Information
Grade 4 titanium sheet should be protected from scratches, bending and contamination during export shipment. Sheets may be packed with protective film, separation paper, pallets or wooden cases according to size and surface condition. Labels should identify grade, standard, size, quantity and heat number when traceability is required.
RFQ Information Needed

- Thickness, width, length, tolerance and flatness requirement
- Surface finish and edge condition
- Forming, cutting, welding or machining requirement
- Quantity, destination and packing requirement
- Certificate, inspection and third-party documentation requirements
FAQ
How is Grade 4 titanium sheet different from Grade 2?
Both are commercially pure titanium grades, but Grade 4 has higher strength than Grade 2. The final selection should follow the drawing, standard and forming requirement.
Which standard is commonly used for Grade 4 sheet?
ASTM B265 / ASME SB265 is commonly used for titanium and titanium alloy sheet and plate, including Grade 4 when specified.
What should be included in a Grade 4 sheet RFQ?
Send grade, standard, thickness, width, length, tolerance, surface condition, quantity, certificate requirement and any forming or machining notes.
Procurement Notes for Grade 4 Titanium Sheet
Grade 4 titanium sheet should be specified by ASTM B265, UNS R50700, thickness, width, length, tolerance, surface condition and whether cut-to-size sheets are required. Grade 4 is commercially pure titanium with higher strength than Grade 1 and Grade 2, so buyers commonly request it for stronger CP titanium sheet components, medical-related parts and industrial assemblies.
RFQs should include annealed condition, flatness requirement, edge condition, protective film, packing method and whether EN10204 3.1 certificates or PMI are required. If the sheet will be formed, machined, welded or used as a plate blank, include the downstream process and drawing tolerance so quotation can include the correct allowance.

Specification detail with sources
ASTM B265-25 sets Grade 4 annealed flat product minimums at 550 MPa tensile strength, 483 MPa yield strength and 15 percent elongation. It also permits up to 0.40 percent oxygen and 0.50 percent iron; these are chemistry limits, not a statement that iron is interstitial, and the higher-strength, lower-elongation combination calls for more forming review than the softer commercially pure grades.
Beiyu quotes Grade 4 through its 0.5 to 3 mm rolled sheet program. ASTM F67-24 separately covers Grade 4 strip, sheet and plate used to manufacture surgical implants; when a project follows that route, name F67 in the enquiry so the order and certificate use the implant specification rather than industrial ASTM B265.
Specification for Grade 4 commercially pure titanium sheet and plate
These are the fields an order line needs. Minimum values shown are those of ASTM B265 in the annealed condition. Where the order calls for another condition, the figures come from that row of the standard instead.
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Grade | Grade 4 commercially pure titanium |
| UNS designation | R50700 under ASTM B265 |
| Werkstoff number | 3.7065 |
| Controlling standard | ASTM B265 |
| Selected composition limits, mass percent | Unalloyed Ti, O 0.40 max, Fe 0.50 max. Full chemistry is per the governing specification. |
| Minimum tensile strength | 550 MPa (80 ksi) |
| Minimum yield strength | 483 MPa (70 ksi) |
| Minimum elongation | 15%, measured in 2 in or 50 mm |
| Supply condition | R / M / Y, stated on the order |
Supply envelope
| Form | Range |
|---|---|
| Thin plate and sheet | 0.5 mm to 3 mm thick, width to 1500 mm |
| Plate | 3 mm to 70 mm thick, width to 2500 mm, length to 6000 mm |
The envelope above is the production capability. It does not mean every combination of grade, condition, surface, tolerance and inspection is available across the whole range, and it is not a stock statement. The ordered combination is confirmed at quotation.
Inspection and documentation
The inspection scope is set by the order rather than assumed. State which examinations are required, to which acceptance standard and class, and at which stage they are performed, because those four fields are what make an inspection line objectively verifiable during receiving inspection.
