Zirconium bar searches mix industrial corrosion grades, nuclear-related wording, round rod and shaped bar. These are not interchangeable. This comparison records what five company-owned pages say, including one page that explicitly marks the product unavailable, so a buyer can filter before issuing an RFQ.
How the five zirconium bar pages were selected
We froze the query top zirconium bar suppliers zirconium rod manufacturer on 1 September 2026. Eligible results were accessible company-owned product pages directly about zirconium bar or rod. Beiyu, marketplaces, directories, duplicate domains and broad zirconium hubs were excluded. The order preserves the frozen result sequence after those exclusions and carries no performance score.
| Company page | Page route/status | Grades and standards stated | Published dimensions | RFQ check |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eagle Alloys | Stock and custom bar | Zr 702, 704, 705, nuclear grade and Zircaloy 4; ASTM B550 appears among multiple product-form standards | 0.003-8 in diameter and up to 20 ft length on the reviewed capability table | Which grade/UNS, bar standard, diameter, condition and actual stock/custom status apply? |
| Baoji Hanz | Customized zirconium bars; page states melting, forging and machining lines | R60702 and R60705; ASTM B550 is stated near the end of the reviewed page | 8-200 mm diameter and 100-3,000 mm length; custom sizes stated | Return exact grade, bar form, condition, tolerance and certificate scope without relying on broad application claims |
| Heeger Metal | The page is accessible but explicitly says the product is currently unavailable | Zr702, Zr704 and Zr705; ASTM B550/B550M | 7-150 mm diameter or customized | Do not treat the dimensional table as current availability; ask whether and when the route reopens |
| Fushel | Round, rectangular and square bar with customization | UNS R60700, R60702, R60705 and R60001 are named; a governing product standard is not stated | Listed round and square sections from 10-150 mm; rectangular examples; lengths ≥300 mm | Which grade/UNS and product standard govern the selected shape and how is the ≥300 mm length finalized? |
| FANMETAL | Round, rectangular, square and other stated shapes; multiple production routes listed | Zr2, Zr4, R60702 and R60705; ASTM B550/B550M and GB/T 8769 are named | 6-280 mm diameter and 300-6,000 mm length; a separate 8-30 mm thickness field is shown | Which shape does the thickness field describe, and which one grade/standard/route governs the quote? |
An accessible page can still be commercially unavailable; Heeger’s status is therefore reported rather than hidden. Likewise, a page that lists multiple product-form standards does not place all of them on a bar order. Availability and specification scope must both be confirmed.
Industrial zirconium is not reactor-grade by default
| Question | Industrial RFQ action | Risk if omitted |
|---|---|---|
| Which grade? | Name the exact industrial grade and UNS, such as Zr 702/R60702 or Zr 705/R60705 when the design specifies it | The supplier cannot infer alloy identity from “zirconium bar” |
| Industrial or nuclear route? | State the applicable project/material specification; nuclear-grade hafnium controls require a separate qualified route | Nuclear wording on a web page may be mistaken for acceptance of an industrial bar, or the reverse |
| Which product form? | Round bar/rod, square, rectangular or drawing-based shape, with ASTM B550/B550M when applicable | A diameter range cannot define flat or square sections |
| What is actually available? | Ask for stock heat/size or confirmed production route and lead time | A capability table may remain online while the product is unavailable |
Industrial Grades 702 and 705 are used for chemical-service product routes; reactor-grade zirconium has a different control basis, including hafnium requirements. A supplier page that mentions both markets does not authorize either one for a specific design.

Send one controlled zirconium bar RFQ
| RFQ line | What to state | What should come back |
|---|---|---|
| Material identity | Grade, UNS, industrial or nuclear route, governing product specification and revision | One exact designation on quotation and MTC |
| Shape and size | Round, square, rectangular or drawing; diameter/section, tolerance, straightness and length | Finished dimensions in one unit and the producible route |
| Condition and surface | Annealed or other ordered condition, forged/rolled/machined state, pickled/ground/turned finish | Delivery condition and surface tied to the quoted size |
| Service inputs | Chemistry, concentration, temperature, pressure and downstream fabrication | Any compatibility limitation separated from the material certificate |
| Inspection | Chemistry, mechanical/dimensional tests, UT or other NDE where specified, sampling and acceptance criteria | A test schedule tied to heat/lot and drawing |
| Commercial status | Quantity, stock heat or production, cut allowance, marking, packing, Incoterm and destination | Confirmed availability and lead-time basis, not a stale web table |
Where Beiyu fits
Beiyu is outside the five-company set. Its live zirconium bar-and-plate page covers industrial Grades 702 and 705. The current bar envelope is 5-150 mm diameter and up to 6,000 mm length, with ASTM B550 as the common bar route when specified. The same two grades are quoted in tube form on the zirconium pipe and tube page, against ASTM B658 and B523. These are production-envelope figures, not a stock statement. Grade/UNS, size, condition, surface, inspection and EN 10204 3.1 document scope are confirmed in the quotation.
Beiyu’s product page explicitly distinguishes industrial Grades 702/705 from nuclear reactor-grade material. A nuclear requirement must be stated and qualified separately.
How to use this comparison
Remove pages that are unavailable for the purchase window, then filter by exact grade and shape. Send the survivors the same order line and record every deviation. Compare quotes only after material identity, product standard, dimensions, condition, inspection and availability are aligned.

Specification detail with sources
Beiyu Titanium publishes this list and is not part of the comparison above. For readers who want the publisher’s own figures on the same basis they would ask of any supplier on this page, the material is specified to ASTM B348, and each order carries an EN 10204 type 3.1 certificate with heat and pour numbers by order scope.
Round bar runs 1 to 500 mm diameter, square 3 x 3 to 500 x 500 mm, flat 3 x 12.7 to 30 x 500 mm and hexagon up to 17 mm across flats, in lengths to 6000 mm. The precision ground route covers 3.175 to 25.4 mm diameter at +/-0.0127 mm, tightened to +/-0.0076 mm against a drawing, with straightness held to 0.5 mm per metre and 0.3 mm per metre at 25 mm and under.
Bar from the precision ground line runs five inspections at 100 percent coverage rather than by sampling: ultrasonic, eddy current, surface optical, infrared laser diameter and straightness. The ultrasonic parameters are immersion method, focused longitudinal wave, 100 percent of the circumference, a 1.2 mm flat-bottom hole reference at 80 percent screen height, 10 MHz, Class A1, to AMS-STD-2154 or GB/T 5193. These are Beiyu published supply figures and inspection parameters, not limits taken from the standard; limit values belong to ASTM B348 and are confirmed against the exact edition named on the purchase order. Certification is stated as a production capability, and no stock position, delivery time or price is implied by any figure on this page.
