Product Introduction
Titanium Flanges for Chemical, Marine and Industrial Piping
Sizes are quoted from the published rows rather than from one converted range: nominal size 1/2 in to 60 in NB NPS; pressure class PN 0.25 MPa to 32 MPa, PN 6 to PN 250, and Class 150 to Class 2500.
Beiyu supplies titanium flanges for corrosion-resistant piping systems, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, seawater equipment and custom titanium assemblies. Common flange types include weld neck flange, slip-on flange, blind flange, lap joint flange, threaded flange, socket weld flange and drawing-based titanium flange components.
Grade 2 titanium flanges are commonly used for general corrosion-resistant piping and equipment connections. Grade 7 may be selected for more aggressive chemical media, while Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V is used where higher strength is required. Grade 12 can be considered for applications requiring improved strength and corrosion resistance compared with commercially pure titanium.

Inspection and Documentation
| When | Documents and tests |
|---|---|
| Requested for a traceable order | Mill test certificate, EN 10204 3.1 documentation, heat number traceability, chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensional inspection report |
| May be added, depending on flange size and service conditions | Ultrasonic testing, PMI testing, liquid penetrant testing, hardness testing, third party inspection |
If required, liquid penetrant testing (PT) and its reporting and traceability scope must be stated in the drawing, quotation and purchase order.
Packaging and Export Information
Machined sealing surfaces and bolt holes should be protected during packing. Titanium flanges are typically separated by size and grade, wrapped to prevent surface damage, and packed in wooden cases or pallets for export shipment. Labels should identify grade, standard, size, quantity and heat number when traceability is required.

FAQ
Which standard is used for titanium flanges?
ASTM B381 is commonly used for titanium and titanium alloy forgings. Dimensional requirements are usually based on ASME B16.5, ASME B16.47, DIN, EN, JIS or customer drawings.
Can Grade 2 titanium flanges be welded to Grade 2 titanium pipe?
Grade compatibility and welding procedure should be confirmed by the project engineer. In many corrosion-resistant piping systems, Grade 2 flanges are matched with Grade 2 titanium pipe or fittings when the design standard allows it.
What should be included in a custom titanium flange RFQ?
Send the drawing, grade, standard, size, pressure class, sealing face, bore, bolt pattern, tolerance, quantity and documentation requirements. If the flange is used in pressure equipment, include design code and inspection requirements.

Flanges are commonly purchased with ASTM B363 titanium pipe fittings for chemical, seawater and heat exchanger piping systems. Send the piping standard and drawing notes so material grade and dimensions stay consistent.

The ranges a flange enquiry is quoted within
The page above lists the fields a flange RFQ should carry. These are the ranges those fields are quoted within, so an enquiry can be checked against them before it is sent rather than after it comes back.
| Field | Range supplied |
|---|---|
| Nominal size | 1/2 in to 60 in NB NPS, with NPS 1/2 to NPS 24 covering DN 10 to DN 2000 in the metric tables |
| Pressure class | PN 0.25 MPa to 32 MPa, PN 6 to PN 250, and Class 150 to Class 2500 |
| Materials beyond titanium | Zirconium, nickel, Inconel, Monel and Hastelloy |
Facings are usually written as codes on a purchase order rather than as words, and the codes carry more than the words do: FF is a flat face, RF a raised face, TG a tongue and groove pair, RJ a ring type joint and MFM a male and female pair. TG and MFM only make sense as a matched pair, so an order naming one of them has to say which half this flange is.
Two lines are worth writing out because they are the ones most often assumed. The facing is not implied by the pressure class, and the flange type is not implied by the nominal size. The ranges above are the Beiyu Titanium supply envelope, and combinations outside them are quoted against the drawing.

Titanium accessories categorySpecification detail with sources
The Beiyu Titanium supply ranges publish flange size in two separate expressions, 1/2 inch to 60 inch NB NPS in one and 1/2 inch to NPS 24 with DN 10 to DN 2000 in the other, and the two are printed as separate rows rather than as one converted range. Pressure classes are stated as PN 0.25 to 32 MPa, PN 6 to PN 250 and 150# to 2500#. The materials carried are titanium, zirconium, nickel, Inconel, Monel and Hastelloy.
Three fields decide a flange before the material does. The type is published as weld neck, slip on, threaded, blind, socket weld and lap joint; the facing as FF, RF, TG, RJ and MFM; and the dimensional standard as ANSI B16.5, ASME B16.47, JIS B2220, DIN 2627 to 2628 or AWWA. ASTM A182 and its ASME adoption SA182 are listed in the same entry as material specifications rather than as dimensional ones. A size and a pressure class on their own do not identify a flange, since the same nominal size exists in every type and facing combination above.

Specification for Grade 2, 5, 7 and 12 titanium flanges
All grades on this page are ordered to ASTM B381. The rows below are the grade level fields an order line needs; full chemistry is per the governing specification.
| Grade | UNS designation | Werkstoff number | Controlling standard | Selected composition limits, mass percent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Grade 2 commercially pure titanium (Grade F-2 under ASTM B381) | R50400 | 3.7035 | ASTM B381 | Unalloyed Ti, O 0.25 max, Fe 0.30 max |
| Grade 5 Ti-6Al-4V (Grade F-5 under ASTM B381) | R56400 | 3.7165 | ASTM B381 | Ti-6Al-4V (Al 5.5 to 6.75, V 3.5 to 4.5) |
| Grade 7 Ti-0.15Pd (Grade F-7 under ASTM B381) | R52400 | 3.7235 | ASTM B381 | Grade 2 chemistry plus Pd 0.12 to 0.25 |

Minimum mechanical values are not listed here because they are set by the ordered standard for the ordered form, size range and condition. Beiyu confirms them against that standard when quoting rather than carrying them across from another product standard.
Fields that apply to every grade on this page
| Field | Value |
|---|---|
| Dimensional standard | ASME B16.5, with class and facing stated on the order |
| Supply condition | R / M, stated on the order |
Dimensions
Flange dimensions come from the dimensional standard rather than from a size envelope. State the ASME B16.5 class and facing with the nominal pipe size on the order, or send the drawing where the flange is to a customer specification.
Inspection and documentation
The inspection scope is set by the order rather than assumed. State which examinations are required, to which acceptance standard and class, and at which stage they are performed, because those four fields are what make an inspection line objectively verifiable during receiving inspection.
