Custom Titanium CNC Machined Parts from Drawings

Beiyu supplies custom titanium precision machined parts for aerospace-related assemblies, medical-related components, marine hardware, chemical equipment, fasteners, shafts, brackets, blocks and industrial fixtures. Machined titanium parts should be quoted from drawings so grade, tolerance, surface finish and inspection requirements can be reviewed before production or procurement.

Common materials include Grade 2 for corrosion-resistant parts, Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V for higher strength-to-weight components, and Grade 7 or Grade 12 for selected chemical or marine environments. Material selection should follow drawing requirements and the intended service conditions.

Material Options and Drawing Requirements

Common materialsGrade 2, Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V, Grade 7, Grade 12 and project-specified titanium alloys.
Input filesPDF drawings, STEP models, DWG files, samples or specification sheets.
Machining scopeTurning, milling, drilling, threading, boring, tapping, surface finishing and assembly-related machining.
Key RFQ dataGrade, standard, tolerance, surface finish, quantity, inspection scope and certificate requirements.

Tolerance, Surface Finish and Inspection Planning

RFQs should state critical dimensions, tolerance class, surface roughness, thread standard, heat treatment condition, burr control, cleaning requirement and quantity. If the part is used in a critical assembly, inspection points and acceptance criteria should be defined in the drawing or purchase specification.

For forged or bar-based machined parts, the RFQ should identify whether material certificates, heat number traceability, ultrasonic testing or mechanical property requirements are needed for the raw material.

If required, liquid penetrant testing (PT) and its reporting and traceability scope must be stated in the drawing, quotation and purchase order.

Common Applications

  • Aerospace-related brackets, blocks and lightweight structural parts
  • Medical-related instruments and components where drawing specifies titanium
  • Chemical equipment shafts, spacers, nozzles and fasteners
  • Marine hardware and corrosion-resistant machined parts
  • Industrial fixtures, threaded parts and custom titanium components

Inspection and Documentation

Buyers can request material certificate, EN10204 3.1 documentation, heat number traceability, dimensional inspection report, surface inspection and thread gauge inspection. Depending on application, PMI testing, ultrasonic testing, hardness testing, CMM inspection or third-party inspection can be specified before quotation.

For a documented example of how drawing requirements, recorded measurements and acceptance evidence are kept separate, see this project-specific drawing and inspection case.

Packaging and Export Information

Precision machined titanium parts should be packed to protect threads, sealing surfaces, sharp edges and finished surfaces. Small parts may be packed by item number and drawing number, while larger parts may require foam protection, cartons, wooden cases or pallets. Labels should match purchase order, drawing revision, material grade and quantity.

RFQ Information Needed

  • Drawing files: PDF, STEP, DWG or sample information
  • Material grade and standard
  • Critical dimensions, tolerance and surface finish
  • Quantity and target application
  • Inspection, certificate and traceability requirements
  • Packing and destination requirements

FAQ

What files are needed to quote titanium machined parts?

PDF drawings and STEP files are preferred. The RFQ should also include material grade, tolerance, quantity, surface finish and inspection requirements.

Which titanium grade is used for CNC machined parts?

Grade selection depends on the drawing and application. Grade 2 is common for corrosion-resistant parts, while Grade 5 / Ti-6Al-4V is used when higher strength-to-weight ratio is required.

Can inspection reports be supplied with machined parts?

Inspection reports can be specified in the RFQ, including dimensional inspection, thread gauge inspection, CMM report, material certificate or third-party inspection where required.

RFQ Details for Titanium Precision Machined Parts

For titanium precision machined parts, quotations depend on the drawing package rather than a catalog name. Buyers should provide 2D drawings, 3D files where available, grade, tolerance, surface finish, thread standard, quantity, inspection points and whether the material must be supplied with ASTM, AMS or medical-grade documentation. For repeat parts, include revision history and any critical dimensions that require CMM or special gauge inspection.

Specification detail with sources

Machined parts are the clearest case of a product with no publishable envelope. Beiyu Titanium works to the drawing, and the tolerances are the buyer's tolerances, so any dimensional range printed here would be a range for some other buyer's part. That is also why no tolerance grade or surface roughness figure appears on this page. The precision ground bar route quoted elsewhere on this site carries its own published values, and those belong to that route rather than to machined work in general.

The split to carry into an enquiry is between the stock and the part. The starting material is ordered like any mill product, by grade with its UNS designation and the product specification the certificate reports against, with EN 10204 3.1 to the scope the order sets. The part itself is defined entirely by the drawing: dimensions, tolerance, surface finish, any treatment, and the inspection scope that decides which of those get measured and reported. A drawing and a grade together are enough to start the review. A part description and a quantity are not, because neither says what has to be held or measured.
